Najib and son Nazifuddin seek leave from Federal Court to appeal over tax dispute


Former prime minister Najib Razak and his son, Mohd Nazifuddin, have each applied to the Federal Court for leave to appeal against the Court of Appeal's decision to affirm two High Court decisions ordering the two to pay tax arrears of RM1.69 billion and RM37.6 million respectively to the Inland Revenue Board. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, September 14, 2021.

FORMER Prime Minister Najib Razak and his son, Mohd Nazifuddin, have applied to the Federal Court for permission to set aside two High Court decisions ordering them to pay tax arrears of RM1.69 billion and RM37.6 million respectively to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).

Najib and Nazifuddin have applied separate motions for leave to appeal against the Court of Appeal’s unanimous decision on September 9 to dismiss their appeals against the High Court decisions.
