32% of population fully vaccinated against Covid-19


HEALTH authorities administered 442,150 shots of Covid-19 vaccines yesterday.

The special committee for Covid-19 vaccine access said 161,049 people received their first dose yesterday, while 281,101 others have completed the course with a second dose.

Based on the latest data, 10.4 million or 31.9% of the population have been vaccinated, while 16.8 million or 51.7% have received their first doses.

Meanwhile, 72.1% of the adult population have received one dose, and 44.5% of adults, two doses.

Labuan has the highest rate of full vaccination with 88.1% of its adult population, or 60,345 people, having received two doses.

The Klang Valley has seen the highest number of doses dispensed with 6.4 million first jabs and 3.9 million second jabs.

In total, 27,293,915 million doses of vaccine have been administered since February 24.

The government aims to immunise 50% of the general population by Merdeka Day.

Meanwhile, restrictions have been eased for fully vaccinated people in states in phase 2 of the national recovery plan and beyond.

Those who have had two shots of the vaccine in those states may now dine out, travel inter-district, take local tours, and participate in selected sports. – August 15, 2021.
