THE Selangor branch of the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) will take stern action against traders who sell pure palm cooking oil (bottled) above the maximum price from today, said its director Muhamad Zikril Azan Abdullah.
He said a few traders were still selling above the price set by the government with the excuse that they were not aware of any price control.
Zikril said that 21 written warnings had been issued since August 1 following inspections.
“We will be monitoring these premises again. If the traders continue to violate the regulation, action will be taken from today,” he said.
KPDNHEP had on July 28 set the maximum retail price for bottled pure palm cooking oil at RM6.70 for 1kg, RM12.70 (2kg) RM18.70 (3kg) and RM29.70 (5kg). – Bernama, August 9, 2021.
