A WARDEN of a privately run care home was charged in the Ipoh Sessions Court today with raping one of the female inmates.

Ahmad Irang @ Suhiran Aris, 43 claimed trial to the charge before judge N. Priscilla Hemamalini.

He was charged with raping the 33-year-old woman at a house in Jalan Kinding Raya 10, Taman Kinding Raya, Kinta district, at 8.20am on October 28 last year.

The charge was framed under Section 376(2) of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum 30 years’ jail and 10 strokes of the cane.

The court allowed the accused bail of RM5,000 with one surety and set October 4 for mention.
