A RECORD 434,828 doses of Covid vaccine was administered yesterday under the national immunisation programme.
The Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply said 279,938 people received their first dose, and 154,890 their second dose.
In total, the programme has administered 12.64 million jabs.
Four million people, or 17.1% of the adult population, are now fully vaccinated, and 8.64 million, or 36.9% of adults, have had a first dose.
The data showed Labuan has the highest number of fully vaccinated adults at 52%, followed by Sarawak with 35%, and Perlis with 33.2%.
The Klang Valley, which comprises Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya, has fully inoculated 1.03 million people and given a first jab to 3.33 million.
Yesterday, Malaysia reported a record 11,618 new virus cases, the second day infections breached the 11,000 mark.
Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said daily cases are expected to increase over the next fortnight before stabilising as the authorities widen testing. – July 15, 2021.
