THE Federal Territories Ministry is considering offering rebates on assessment rates in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

FT Minister Annuar Musa said for now, payment of assessment rates may be made in instalments while penalties are waived for late payment.

“In this difficult time, there’s nothing wrong with giving back a little to the ratepayers. The matter is being looked into but in any case, I have already given my approval.

“Instalment payments, rebates and no penalties are among the incentives given to the communities in the Federal Territories.

“We are also confident that the economy will recover soon and people will be able to earn a living with employment opportunities,” Annuar said on RTM’s Bicara Naratif programme on Sunday night.

Earlier the ministry introduced the Inisiatif Wilayah Cakna 5.0 to reduce the burden on Malaysians living in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan who are affected by the enforcement of the movement control order, especially folk in the B40 group and the urban poor. – Bernama, June 22, 2021.
