16 new Covid-19 clusters, 12 linked to workplaces

MALAYSIA has reported 16 new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of active clusters in the country to 755, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The Health Ministry director-general said 12 of the new clusters were linked to workplaces, while three community transmissions and a sole high-risk group cluster were also recorded.

The workplace clusters were only reported in three states, namely Selangor (5), Johor (4) and Sarawak (3).

All of Selangor’s workplace clusters were traced to industrial areas.

Meanwhile, Noor Hisham said the community clusters were traced in Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan, while the high-risk group cluster was detected in Johor.

10. Sg Kakus in Tatau, Sarawak (51)

11. Pekan Tatau Baru in Tatau, Sarawak (27)

12. Semanok in Tatau, Sarawak (7)

Noor Hisham said the new clusters reported today brought the total number of clusters in the country to 2,438, of which 1,683 had ended. – June 11, 2021.
