More than 4 million people receive 1st Covid-19 vaccine jab

MALAYSIA has administered 4,102,936 doses of Covid-19 vaccines as of yesterday, maintaining a run of three days of over 150,000 vaccinations per day.

According to the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF), 2,835,178 individuals have received their first shot of the vaccine, while 1,267,758 individuals completed the full course.

CITF said 157, 949 jabs were administered yesterday, of which 111,130 recipients were given the first dose and 46,819 got the second dose.

On June 8, a total of 151,309 jabs were administered, while on June 9, 154,866 shots were given.

The National Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said last week that Malaysia will hit 150,000 vaccinations per day in June.

At the end of May, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said Malaysia aimed for a vaccination rate of 200,000 to 300,000 per day to achieve herd immunity by the end of the year. – June 11, 2021.
