ABDUL Hadi Awang is in stable condition at the National Heart Institute (IJN) but under close observation, said his son Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi.
In a statement, the PAS president’s son called on party members to perform “solat hajat” (special prayer) for Hadi’s speedy recovery.
Khalil, however, denied that his father had slipped into a coma.
“He is at the hospital and he is stable. He needs further treatment and close observation by doctors.”
“There have been many comments on social media that are not true,” said Khalil in the statement.
He added that he would provide updates on Hadi’s condition from time to time.
On April 28, Hadi’s political secretary, Syahir Sulaiman, said the Marang MP was undergoing follow-up treatment at IJN but did not provide details on why the Islamist party’s longest-serving president was admitted to hospital.
Hadi was admitted to Putrajaya hospital on February 15 after having breathing difficulties before being transferred to IJN for further treatment.
He was allowed to leave a few days later after receiving treatment. – June 6, 2021.
