MALAYSIA saw a drop in Covid-19 cases for the second day running with the country reporting 6,824 infections in the past 24 hours.
This comes ahead of the two-week full lockdown, which starts tomorrow.
Posting the latest figures and its breakdown by states on Twitter, Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor continued to log the most cases with 2,111 infections.
This is the 39th straight day Selangor has been topping the chart of cases by state.
Selangor also tops the overall case count with 186,926, followed by Sabah with 62,244 and Kuala Lumpur with 58,654 cases.
Sarawak with 654 cases and Johor with 489 were the other states with the highest numbers of new cases in the past 24 hours.
Noor Hisham said the national caseload is now 572,357.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Dr Adham Baba said close to 3 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered as of yesterday.
He said a total of 1,860,864 individuals have received their first dose of the vaccine, while 1,052,145 others have completed both doses, bringing the total to 2,913,009.
He also said that total registration for the vaccine is at 12,117,091 as of yesterday. β May 31, 2021.
