THE Kelana Jaya Light Rail Transit (LRT) service, which was affected by a train collision last Monday, returned to normal operations at 3.45 pm today.
Transport Minister Wee Ka Siong said repair and clean-up works at the affected track have concluded.
This includes the installation of the 28m-long linear heat detection cable, a critical element in train operations, which was completed at 2pm.
“As all the works requested by the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) have been fulfilled, the APAD director-general has issued an approval letter for the service to resume operations.
“The frequency and capacity of trains will be based on the set standard operating procedure (SOPs) of the movement-control order (MCO),” he said in a news conference at the KLCC LRT station today. – Bernama, May 28, 2021.
