THERE is no curfew between 8pm and 8am, when most businesses are closed under the third movement-control order (MCO 3.0), said the National Security Council (NSC).
“No curfew. (Only) business hours from 8am to 8pm,” a spokesperson for the NSC told news portal Malaysiakini.
The spokesperson added that pharmacies were allowed to operate until 10pm while clinics can operate according to their regular operating hours.
“There are also doctors and nurses who finish their shifts at 11pm,” the spokesperson said.
The NSC yesterday dismissed as fake a viral message urging members of the public not to use MySejahtera after 8pm to check into places.
It alleged that anyone checking into places after 8pm can be traced through the app and possibly fined, adding that a “curfew” was in place.
Malaysia is currently under a national lockdown that came into force on May 12 and is expected to end on June 7.
Putrajaya has announced stricter measures under MCO 3.0, which include limited operating hours, from 8am to 8pm, for most businesses such as restaurants, malls, convenience stores and laundromats. Pharmacies are allowed to operate until 10pm.
Putrajaya also announced that members of the public have to abide by a two-hour shopping time limit at retail outlets.
Enforcement officers and premise owners will be able to track a shopper’s time limit through the MySejahtera app using the check-in time. – May 26, 2021.
