14 new Covid-19 clusters detected

Fourteen new Covid-19 clusters have been detected in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of active clusters to 484. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Irwan Majid, May 17, 2021.

HALF of the 14 new Covid-19 clusters detected in the last 24 hours were linked to community transmissions, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The health director-general said apart from the seven community clusters, four religious clusters and three workplaces were also reported.

He said the clusters were spread over Kelantan, Pahang, Selangor, Johor, Sabah, Sarawak, Perak, Kuala Lumpur and Kedah.

He added that the new clusters had increased the total number of active clusters to 484.

The 14 clusters detected in the past 24 hours are:

Community:

1. Taman Repek in Pasir Mas, Kelantan (nine cases)

2. Kg Kual in Pasir Mas, Kelantan (15 cases)

3. Kgg Perah in Pasir Mas, Kelantan (22 cases)

4. Kg Paya Teh in Jerantut, Pahang (68 cases)

5. Taman Jati in Bera and Bentong, Pahang (13 cases)

6. Jalan Jambusan in Kuching and Bau, Sarawak (17 cases)

7. Jalan Imam Jalilul in Tawau, Sabah (11 cases)

Religious centres:

8. Kundang Jaya in Gombak, Selangor (36 cases)

9. Parit Kassan Jegol in Batu Pahat, Johor (22 cases)

10. Sg Langgas in Kunak, Sabah (19 cases)

11. Jalan Kuak Luar spread over the districts of Hulu Perak, Perak and Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (22 cases)

Workplace:

12. Jalan Jambu Bol in Petaling, Kuala Selangor, Klang and Hulu Langat, Selangor (12 cases)

13. Jalan Kusta in Gombak and Petaling, Selangor (70 cases)

14. Dah Serdang in Bandar Baru and Kulim, Kedah (16 cases)

Noor Hisham also said 1,417 clusters in the country have ended. – May 17, 2021.
