THE latest Hotspot Identification by Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) list will include several shopping malls where the public had gathered recently during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, said Dr Adham Baba.

The health minister said families had met at shopping malls after the government prohibited gatherings at home.

“When the government prohibited Hari Raya gatherings at home, people met at shopping malls. This may spark a real crisis,” Adham said at a joint weekly press conference with Khairy Jamaluddin on inoculation efforts.

He said these malls will be placed on the HIDE list to create awareness among the public in the hope it would help to curb further transmission of the virus.

Khairy, who is the coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, said the updated HIDE list would be made available by today or latest by tomorrow.

Last week, Khairy said that the locations on the HIDE made public on May 8, were potential virus hotspots.

The science, technology and innovation minister said the government prevented listing all hotspots, claiming that it would have created chaos among the public. – May 17, 2021.
