Malaysia to receive another million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, Khairy says

ONE million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines will be arriving in the country this month and it will be for opt-in registrations, The Star quoted Khairy Jamaluddin as saying.

The coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme said an announcement will be made next week.

“We will open the opt-in registration for people in Klang Valley and other states,” he said after a visit to the WCT vaccination centre.

“People need not worry and we will make the announcement next week,” he added.

Khairy also advised those with vaccination appointments to arrive 15 to 30 minutes earlier, to prevent crowding at the centre.

He also advised those without appointments to not come to the centre to try their luck as that would lead to congestion.

“Many tend to come at the end of the day to try their luck, but this will result in a crowd and it’s risky,”’ he said.

Khairy has previously said that walk-ins are not permitted at any vaccination centres. – May 15, 2021.
