BARISAN Nasional supporters and Umno members, in particular, should erase their sentimental feelings for former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad as he has made the Malay party his enemy after helming it for 22 years, said Perlis Menteri Besar Azlan Man.

He said it could not be denied and forgotten that Dr Mahathir had brought development to the country.

However, in the current political context, we see him as an opposition leader, and he is making Umno his enemy. Therefore, we should erase our sentimental feelings for him.

“We should also look back on Dr Mahathir’s weaknesses when he was prime minister. He should accept people’s criticism (of his leadership),” Azlan told reporters after a monthly assembly of state civil servants and their federal counterparts in the state in Kangar today.

Azlan said the things Dr Mahathir was doing now were far different from what he did when he was with Umno.

“There were things that Dr Mahathir did that resulted in the government incurring big losses, like the forex exchange losses and bailing out companies belonging to his son, and Malaysia Airlines.” – Bernama, January 8, 2018.

  • Mahathir gets the nomination because he will not last a full term, and Anwar is waiting. Certainly, if a person younger than Anwar is made the PM candidate, how can Anwar tell him to give way.

Muhyiddin was only one heartbeat away from the PM position while he was in UMNO. Now he is serving national interest with not intention of seeking the PM post. While Muhyiddin was the DPM, why did he not check out on where the USD 3.5 billion was sent when IPIC claimed that it did not receive the money which 1MDB office in KL had clearly authorized the payment. While 1MDB pretended that it had a case and fought in the Tribunal in London and eventually agreed to pay IPIC, again(?) the USD 3.5 billion plus interest, the money that had been sent have been assumed lost. Can the government allow 1MDB to pay twice to IPIC, once to the fake account and do nothing?

  • So Azlan Man--- why do you care if people ll over malaysia and even Umno members have sentimental feelings for the old man. It is better than having feelings to support a compulsive liar and thief where he and his cohorts are robbing endlessly and making life very unmeaningul for the Rakayat. You go ahead and carry on polishing his testicles with your contaminated tongue. Absurd suggestions !!!!!
