CIVIL servants and pensioners will receive RM500 and RM250 respectively under the Special Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2021 Assistance, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.

The payment will be made on May 6, together with salaries.

Eligible civil servants are those in Grade 56 and below, including those employed under contract, temporary daily workers and those appointed under MyStep.

The special assistance will benefit more than two million civil servants and pensioners, the PMO said in a statement.

  “This is in appreciation of the services and sacrifices of civil servants in shouldering the responsibility of delivering services to the people, especially during these challenging times,” it said.

It added that this year’s announcement of the payment was made earlier than in previous years to enable early preparations for Hari Raya, which falls around the middle of next month. – April 22, 2021.
