I didn’t know anything about Zeti’s husband, says Dr Mahathir


In a recent interview with news portal Malaysiakini, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has said that he no inkling about former Bank Negara Malaysia Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz’s family’s involvement in 1MDB matters, even when he was leading the Pakatan Harapan government. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Seth Akmal, April 16, 2021.

DR Mahathir Mohamad has said he was unaware that the husband of former Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz had allegedly received funds from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), Malaysiakini reported.

The former prime minister was interviewed by the news portal and asked about his decision in 2018 to appoint Zeti as a member of the Council of Eminent Persons to advise the then new Pakatan Harapan federal government in 2018 on the country’s economy and governance.
