Toshiba to weigh buyout offer from UK fund

A report from Toshiba Corp. has revealed today that British investment fund firm CVC Capital Partners proposed an acquisition of the Tokyo-based conglomerate with a deal that could be worth about US$20 billion. – EPA pic, April 7, 2021.

TOSHIBA is considering a buyout offer from a British private equity fund, it said today, with reports suggesting the deal could be worth about US$20 billion (RM82.56 billion).

Trading of Toshiba shares was halted on Tokyo’s stock exchange at the open, after the Japanese firm confirmed the offer in a statement.
