A TOTAL of 42,120 armed forces personnel will be vaccinated against Covid-19 in the first phase of the national inoculation programme, which will start next Friday.

“I believe that in March (Armed Forces personnel) will receive the vaccine as we are part of the frontliners. This also includes those who are involved in manning roadblocks and ‘Op Benteng’ operations with the police,” Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today.

  • This is a first! So far its not the job but the risk factors such as age, underlying health conditions and BMI that scientists say should determine the priority. Army personnel are not likely to qualify for first phase as they are not elderly or ill or overweight (hopefully)!
