FIRE broke out at the buggy storage area at the Seriemas Golf Club in Nilai early today and destroyed 120 of the vehicles.

A security guard at the club, Shamrasizu Shamsuddin, said he and colleague went to check a loud explosion about 2.30am.

“There was a fire on the ground floor of the building and it was spreading fast. The area was engulfed in thick smoke. I informed my supervisor and then called MERS999,” he said today.

Negri Sembilan Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations)  Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said two fire engines and a water tanker, with 35 firefighters from the Nilai, Mantin and Seremban 2 fire stations rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call.

Fire engulfed a buggy car storage area and 120 vehicles there were destroyed in the incident, he said, adding that the department was investigating the cause of the fire and losses incurred. – Bernama, February 4, 2021.
