PETER Anthony’s application to transfer a case filed against him at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court to the Kota Kinabalu Sessions Court will be heard in the high court on March 18.

When contacted by reporters, lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla, who is representing the former Sabah infrastructure development minister, said the date was set by judicial commissioner Aslam Zainuddin during the case mention today.

“Peter is currently in Sabah but he will appear in court (here) during the hearing of the application,” he said.

Peter, 50, was charged as the managing director of Asli Jati Engineering Sdn Bhd with falsifying a document with regard to a purported collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Sabah to fund and set up a monitoring and evaluation technical training centre via direct negotiations in July 2014.

In June last year, the Parti Warisan Sabah vice-president was also charged with money-laundering and criminal breach of trust in cases filed at the Kota Kinabalu Sessions Court, involving the purchase of Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority land. – Bernama, February 3, 2021.
