Indonesia logs 14,224 new Covid-19 cases

THE Covid-19 infection rate in Indonesia is becoming more alarming, as more than 14,000 new cases were recorded within the last 24 hours.

After recording 12,818 cases yesterday, the number of new infections today continued to soar to 14,224.

According to data published on the Indonesian government’s official website on Covid-19 at covid19.go.id today, the national caseload stands at 896,642, while the cumulative number of deaths increased to 25,767, after another 283 casualties were reported today.

Jakarta remains the province with the highest number of cases at 223,970, while East Java has the most number of casualties with 6,833. – Bernama, January 16, 2021.
