Ex-cop claims trial to corruption


A FORMER policeman claimed trial in the Seremban Sessions Court today to a charge of accepting a RM500 bribe three years ago.

Mohd Faizal Paimin, 37, was charged with receiving the bribe from one Hisamul Faizal Safuan Abdul Samat as an inducement to not arrest him for a drug offence.

The offence was allegedly committed at  lot 358, Jalan Beringin Kg Linsum, Rantau, at 4.20pm on January 4, 2017.

Judge Madihah Harullah allowed him bail of RM8,000 with one surety and set February 8 for mention.

Faizal, who was unrepresented, was also ordered to report himself at the nearest Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office every month.
