AHMAD Faizal Azumu today reminded Bersatu members to not take revenge against other political parties, following his ouster as Perak menteri besar.
Saying such a move would not be beneficial to any quarter, the deputy president added any differences with other parties can be resolved amicably.
“Don’t take political retribution. Things can be settled. This happened in the Perak assembly sitting recently because we rejected negotiations before doing something.
“This happened to me. I was accused of not consulting over the selection of my political secretary (Gerik Barisan Nasional’s Aznel Ibrahim).
“I hope this (no-confidence motion) will not happen to other states, even at the federal level,” he said in a press conference.
Faizal was commenting on Johor rep Osman Sapian’s remarks that Bersatu could retaliate by tabling a no-confidence motion against Johor Menteri Besar Hasni Mohammad, an Umno man.
The Kempas rep said a reprisal was likely, after Umno had moved to oust Faizal as menteri besar, through a similar motion.
Faizal, who is Chenderiang rep, lost a confidence vote in the 59-seat state assembly yesterday.
Ten voted for him, 48 against and one abstained. The motion was brought by Barisan Nasional assemblyman for Pengkalan Baru Abd Manap Hashim. – December 5, 2020.
