4 lost at Telaga Tujuh waterfall in Langkawi rescued


FOUR women, including a teenager hiking at the Telaga Tujuh waterfall area, Gunung Mat Cincang in Langkawi, faced anxious moments after they got lost, this afternoon.

Nur Anfaal Busyra Abu Aziz, 18,  Fathiyatulnajat Zulkifli, 21, Aiman Amirah Zulkifli and Khairunnasuha Abdul Razak, both 25, from Kuala Nerang, Kedah are on vacation on the island.

Kedah Fire and Rescue Department’s operations division director Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain in a statement said a report was received on the incident at 1.08pm today.

“An officer and five members of the Langkawi Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the scene upon receiving the report. The victims were found lost at a height of about 61m from the foot of the mountain.

“The victims did not suffer any injuries and were brought down by the firefighters,” he said, adding that the operation ended at 4pm. – Bernama, December 2, 2020.
