Muda co-founder upset with Syed Saddiq for not rejecting budget

MUDA co-founder Luqman Long has expressed his disappointment in his party colleague Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman for not opposing the supply bill for the budget yesterday in the Dewan Rakyat,

In a Twitter post, Luqman  said the Muar MP had been wrong and careless in failing to object to the spending plan.

He said there should not be “yes man” when it  comes to important issues like the budget.

Luqman said the chance to oppose the budget had come and gone.

“This is sad.

“I will let him settle this turmoil. Even though he has apologised, this is not a small issue,” he said.

After two weeks of debate in the Dewan Rakyat, Budget 2021 was passed at the policy stage yesterday.

It was approved by voice vote after an attempt to call for bloc voting failed when only 13 MPs stood up to back the call, two short of the required 15.

The RM322.5 billion budget is the country’s biggest-ever, with most of the funds going to virus containment efforts and aid for the people. – November 27, 2020.
