More than 700 evacuated as Perak floods worsen

FLOODS are reported to have worsened in Perak with more residents evacuated to six relief centres, more than doubling the number of people at the shelters, from 319 at 9pm yesterday to 736 at 6am today.

A spokesman for the State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said Larut, Matang and Selama were the worst-hit, accounting for 569 evacuees in four relief centres.
