Stricter Singapore quarantine rules put Malaysian workers in a bind

SOME Malaysians returning home from Singapore under the Periodic Commuting Arrangement (PCA) are affected by the city state’s reimposition of a 14-day quarantine for those with a travel history to Malaysia.

Some had to cancel their plans to return home even after getting permission under the PCA scheme on realising the cost of quarantine would increase. Currently, Malaysians only need to self-isolate for only seven days when issued what the Singapore government calls a stay-home notice (SHN).
