Court quashes ex-Supermax boss’ conviction for insider trading

THE Kuala Lumpur High Court today set aside the five-year jail term and RM5 million fine imposed on former Supermax Corp Bhd managing director Stanley Thai Kim Sim for insider trading in relation to APL Industries Bhd shares.

Judicial commissioner Azhar Abdul Hamid allowed the appeal by Thai, 60, against the conviction, jail sentence and fine.
