101 new Covid-19 cases, more returning from Sabah infected

MALAYSIA recorded 101 new Covid-19 cases today, of which 17 had travelled to virus-hotspot Sabah recently.

Local transmissions again made up the bulk of today’s new infections at 97. Overall, the national tally of cumulative cases is 11,135.

Of the 17 cases with a recent travel history to Sabah, nine of them are in Selangor, and one each in Kuala Lumpur, Kelantan, Kedah, Malacca, Perak, Penang, Perlis and Putrajaya.

The Health Ministry also announced four new clusters today:

– Jalan Bomba cluster, in Sandakan

– Jalan Utara cluster, in Sandakan 

– Benteng PK cluster, in Selangor 

– Bakawali cluster, in Johor 

There are now 1,062 active cases, after 50 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours.

Thirteen of the active cases are in the intensive care unit (ICU) and five require intubation.

No new deaths were reported, keeping total fatalities at 134. – September 29, 2020.
