FORMER law minister Zaid Ibrahim said a sense of responsibility to democracy led to him making a statement on social media regarding the sultan of Selangor.
Zaid, who gave his statements to the police at the Bukit Aman police headquarters today, said he explained the reasons behind the tweet he sent last week which has earned him criticisms for allegedly disrespecting the sultan.

Actually it was a general statement - unless the party is guilty, there is nothing to be upset about..So if the Sultan is upset, the problem is the Sultan, and those that support him.

Zaid was right, absolutely harmless tweet that reinforces the rule of law as a democratic rights for every Malaysians. Sultans are not above the law, only partial immunity that could be gone if Mahathir return to power -- which is only the prevailing trend worldwide.
