Court charges anti-drug agency officer with bribery


A NATIONAL Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) assistant was charged in the sessions court in Kuantan today with bribery.

G.Dayalan, 57, pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read out before judge Siti Aminah Ghazali.

He was charged with soliciting a RM500 bribe from a man as an inducement to remove his name in the list of AADK wanted persons.

The offence was allegedly committed at a restaurant here at 1 pm on February 16, 2019.

Siti Aminah allowed him bail of RM6,000 in one surety and set October 15 for mention for Dayalan to appoint a lawyer.

The prosecution was conducted by a deputy public prosecutor from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Siti Sarah Zainal Abiddin. – Bernama, September 15, 2020.
