AN assistant enforcement officer with the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has been remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations into a protection racket for illegal businesses in Sg Buloh.
The remand order, which expires on Wednesday, was issued by Putrajaya magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim today.
According to a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission source, the 38-year-old suspect was arrested at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters about 9.30pm yesterday after giving his statement.
Yesterday, five people, including four MBSA enforcement officers, were remanded for a week to facilitate investigations into the same case. – Bernama, August 13, 2020.
