A RM10 billion mega mixed development project in Teluk Dumpil, Putatan, Sabah, is expected to create more than 6,000 jobs.

To be developed by Setara Juara Sdn Bhd (SJSB), the groundbreaking for the seaside project will commence in September, and the development will cover 101ha along the Kota Kinabalu-Putatan-Lok Kawi highway.

SJSB chairman Arsit Sedi said among other things, the project comprises the development of a hotel and a theme park, as well as the state’s biggest shopping mall.

“The development is expected to help improve the local economy and create thousands of jobs and business opportunities for the locals and international investors in the long run,” he said at a press conference in Kota Kinabalu, today.

Arsit said the construction will be carried out in four phases, and phase one is expected to be completed within five years.

He added that the SJSB is collaborating with a company from China with regards to the project, and plans for the area to be turned into a commercial free zone. – Bernama, August 11, 2020.

  • Hotel, theme park and shopping mall! Please move on. Can we have more creative ideas to promote the economy? Hotels are bleeding and closing, theme parks are also closing and shopping malls too! When will Sabah move into the 4th Industrial revolution?

  • For goodness sake! This is model for the last century! Flying is going out of fashion so tourism is going to have to rely more on local who dont use hotels. And retail is now undergoing a massive change.online shopping is the growing area now. Look at the needs of the market and the environment then plan.
