Indonesia jails ex-minister over US$800,000 bribes

A FORMER Indonesian sports minister has been jailed seven years after he was found guilty of taking US$800,000 (RM3.4 million) in bribes, said his lawyer today.

The sentence, handed down yesterday by a Jakarta anti-corruption court, comes after Imam Nahrawi was convicted of accepting bribes to approve grants given by the Indonesian Sports Council.
