PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has clarified the purpose of his meeting with Bersatu’s secretary-general Hamzah Zainuddin recently.

He said the meeting was only a discussion about current issues and matters concerning Hamzah’s ministry.

Anwar said he had informed Pakatan Harapan’s presidential council about the meeting last month.

“I told the council last month. We discussed current issues and matters in the Home Ministry,” he said in a video uploaded by Chinese newspaper Sin Chew Daily.

He added that he reported his meeting because he had no hidden agenda, unlike others.

“I have no conspiracy. I met Hamzah and I told the presidential council,” he said.

Bernama yesterday reported Hamzah’s admission about meeting the Port Dickson MP.

The home minister said it was his first meeting with Anwar after several years.

“There was nothing to inform the media,” he said.

Last week, PKR chief whip Johari Abdul said Anwar had previously met with several Perikatan Nasional leaders.

Among them were Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, Hamzah and Sarawak leaders. – June 28, 2020.

  • Its time for DSAI to look at the bigger picture. Anwar has contributed enormously to nation. We the people acknowledge that. That you Sir !. It is time for the old generation Mahathir Anwar combo to move on. Shafie Apdal is a good choice for PM's post. A change will bring an end to the toxic politics of Race and Religion being practised now. Sabahans are neutral people and they accept all races and religions wholeheartedly. Hence appointing Shafie will be in the right direction for the nation. Nurul Izzah and Mukriz should be appointed as DPMs. Are we brave enough to a point an Non Malay MP from DAP as the 3rd DPM. Over to you HARAPAN.
