THE government is functioning well, thus there is no need to dissolve Parliament and call snap polls, said Annuar Musa.

The Barisan Nasional secretary-general said the pact is focused on addressing problems faced by the people.

“The government is performing well, and for me, at the moment, there is no issue with regard to Parliament’s dissolution because we already have a prime minister… no issue of instability, too.

“I see a steady government. Support is increasing, as is the number of seats, as some MPs have crossed over,” he told reporters after launching the Cartoonist v Covid-19 exhibition in Kuala Lumpur today.

He was commenting on a statement by Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan, who urged Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to dissolve Parliament to pave the way for snap elections.

Annuar said Mohamad’s call is the latter’s personal view, and not representative of the party. – Bernama, June 26, 2020.
