THE Perak government has given an assurance that the construction of a premium outlet mall in Batu Gajah will not affect the nearby Kinta Nature Park.

Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu rubbished claims that the mall will impact a bird park in the area.

Preserving the environment has always been a top concern of the state government, he told reporters in Ipoh today.

“The construction of the mall is expected to be completed by year-end. It will certainly provide a new shopping experience to the public.”

Present at the presser were state Health, Science, Environment and Technology Committee chairman Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud and state Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee chairman Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi.

Nolee Ashilin said the mall is being built according to approved specifications.

“There should be no issue, as the location (of the mall) is actually quite far from the bird park. And, there is a buffer zone between the two places.

“Inshaallah, it will not disrupt the ecosystem.” – Bernama, June 20, 2020.
