Pahang plans to re-evaluate water catchment areas to pay off debts

THE Pahang government intends to re-evaluate forests gazetted as water catchment areas as a way to pay off debts to the federal government, amounting to RM3.31 billion.

Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob said Pahang had 270,000ha of water catchment areas that benefited other states, such as Kelantan, Terengganu, Perak, Negri Sembilan and Johor.
