Shuttle Timur continues serving commuters in remote Kelantan


KTMB’s intercity service is still in operation. Its service, especially in Kelantan, allows those living in remote areas to go to town for essential supplies and medical treatment. – KTMB pic, May 20, 2020.

EVERY day as early as 4am, the Shuttle Timur starts its engines at the Tumpat station to make its way across Kelantan to the Gua Musang station.

The eight-hour journey, covering 227km and 11 stations, is manned by more than 100 employees of the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB).
