LAWMAKERS’ seating arrangement for Monday’s Dewan Rakyat meeting has been settled, said Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof.

He said the matter was finalised following negotiations with all political parties.

The arrangement will not be made known till the day of the sitting itself, he said in Kuala Lumpur today.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah will open the session next week.

The seating arrangement for the country’s 222 MPs required changing after Pakatan Harapan’s fall and Perikatan Nasional’s takeover in March.

The opening ceremony on Monday will be brief, in compliance with the Health Ministry’s standard operating procedure to curb Covid-19, said Ariff. – Bernama, May 15, 2020.
