YANG di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah have wished all nurses in the country a Happy International Nurses’ Day.
Istana Negara, in a statement uploaded to Instagram, said the couple hold nurses in high regard for their contributions to society.
The sacrifice and tireless efforts of nurses on the Covid-19 front line are deeply valued, it said.
“Their Majesties salute the commitment and dedication of nurses in carrying out their responsibilities and duties.
“Nurses are important assets to the Health Ministry and nation. Congratulations, and thank you for your service to society. All of you are our heroes and heroines.”
In a video, the queen hailed nurses battling the coronavirus outbreak, and said she prays Allah will reward them, irrespective of their race or religion, for their service.
“I salute all nurses for shouldering this heavy responsibility. I pray all of you will be safe and well. Together, we must break the chain of infections.”
International Nurses’ Day is celebrated on May 12 each year. – Bernama, May 12, 2020.
