CIVIL servants will get another RM500 as a special Hari Raya Aidilfitri payment on May 20, on top of the RM500 Covid-19 aid given last month.

Pensioners, meanwhile, will receive RM250, said Director-General of Public Service Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman in a circular released today.

Government retirees who have been reappointed to serve on a contract basis will get RM500.

The special payment is for civil servants in Grades 56 and below, and covers those on full-pay, half-pay and no-pay leave, as well as temporary daily workers with an active contract of 30 days.

Drivers appointed by Grade B officers, Special Grade A officers, judges and judicial commissioners are also eligible.

Recipients of aid for government employees who died during service will get RM500.

Civil servants facing disciplinary action or are suspended are not entitled to the payment.

Under Putrajaya’s stimulus package to mitigate the economic impact of Covid-19, 1.5 million civil servants in Grades 56 and below, including contract workers, are provided a one-off aid of RM500. Retired civil servants were also given the same amount in April. – May 11, 2020.
