Man commits suicide after stabbing wife, father-in-law

A FINANCIAL dispute between a couple has resulted in the husband committing suicide, after stabbing his wife and father-in-law.

The father and daughter were taken to Kajang Hospital for treatment, said Kajang police chief Zaid Hassan in a statement today.

Zaid said the incident happened in Bangi yesterday and the couple were involved in a financial dispute before the incident happened.

“The man, aged 40, hit his wife during the argument,” Zaid said.

The woman later went to lodge a police report, accompanied by her father, while the husband was also present.

“The woman, her father and her husband went to the police station and the trio later headed back home to get some documents for medical treatment.

“The couple had wanted to settle the dispute and they left the police station without any trouble. The husband did not show any sign of aggression,” Zaid added in the statement.

However, when they arrived home, the man grabbed a knife and stabbed his wife and his father-in-law.

One of the neighbours overheard the commotion and contacted the police immediately.

“Both the victim and her father were injured in the incident, but they also managed to call the police for help.

“We dispatched a team to the house, while the father and daughter were taken to Kajang Hospital in an ambulance.

“The police went inside the house to arrest the suspect but found he had locked himself in a room.”

Zaid said officers broke down the door and found that the man had committed suicide, while they were classifying the incident as sudden death. – April 30, 2020.

  • It's a sad state of affairs, really really sad as it's about money and under MCO it's like in a pressure cooker.
