YANG di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah tonight conveyed Ramadan greetings to all Muslims in Malaysia.

Comptroller of the Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the king called on Muslims to strengthen their faith and increase religious activities and good deeds in the holy month.

“Muslims in the country are urged to fill the month of Ramadan with meaningful activities and increase their good deeds.

“Sultan Abdullah expressed his hope for Muslims to strengthen their solidarity, and care about their surrounding communities,” he said in a statement issued by Istana Negara.

He said the Agong hopes Ramadan is observed with humility and gratitude for the tests and blessings bestowed by Allah.

His Majesty also expressed hope that Muslims, particularly those who are frontliners, remain strong while carrying out their duties in the fasting month, said Fadil.

The king urged the faithful to face these trying times with patience, and cooperate with the authorities by complying with the movement-control order.

“Take this opportunity to be with your family at home. By doing so, we are protecting our family from Covid-19.”

Fadil said Sultan Abdullah hopes the decline in coronavirus infections will continue, and Malaysia will be free of the disease soon.

He said the king and queen have been advised by the Health Ministry not to attend or hold programmes during Ramadan. – Bernama, April 23, 2020.
