A ONE-OFF payment of RM600 to each registered taxi driver and tour guide will be deposited into their accounts starting today.

Finance Ministry in a statement yesterday said the move to deposit the payment directly into accounts so they did not have to leave their houses during the current movement control order (MCO).

It said the registered recipients could check and update their accounts at www.treasury.gov.my.

“The government hopes this assistance will ease the burden of the people due to the Covid-19 outbreak.”

Previously, the government had announced the RM600 one-off assistance for taxi drivers, tour guides, tour bus drivers and trishaw operators. – Bernama, April 2, 2020.
