ABDUL Hamid Bador has refuted a news report alleging that Lim Guan Eng’s son was arrested in Singapore for trying to smuggle RM2 million into the republic.

The inspector-general of police told The Malaysian Insight that the incident never occurred.

“Not true. No arrest and no confiscation of money.”

Earlier today, Chinese newspaper Nanyang Siang Pau reported that a son of a “senior Pakatan Harapan leader” was detained for attempting to bring RM2 million into Singapore without proper verification.

Controversial blog Malaysia Today later quoted the Nanyang article and claimed that the man involved was the DAP secretary-general’s son, Clint.

The report said a “Tan Sri” was also involved in the incident, and that senior members of PH had gone to Singapore seeking details on the alleged arrest and seizure.

DAP sources said they will not respond to baseless, unverified accusations. – March 14, 2020.
