A PROBE into a police helicopter crash at the General Operations Force 14th Battalion camp in Jalan Air Panas, Tawau, will be carried out today.

District police chief Peter Umbuas said initial findings indicated that the aircraft attempted to land on the helipad, but went out of control and crashed into the roof of a building at the camp.

“We have activated a control centre at the scene,” he told reporters last night.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations centre has released the names of all six policemen involved in the incident.

They are Mohamad Radzie Radaie, 40; Shaike Faiqzal Johari, 34; Norhashim Ahmad, 44; Harry Joinin, 36; Wedrich Sindih, 34; and, Andyrian Shah Mohd Saufi, 33.
