AMIRUDIN Shari is expected to have an audience with Selangor’s Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today, said the menteri besar’s political secretary.

However, Borhan Aman Shah did not say what will be discussed.

“(Amirudin) will have an audience with His Royal Highness,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

Asked about the menteri besar’s whereabouts, he said: “I don’t know.”

Borhan said Selangor is still governed by Pakatan Harapan despite talk of a possible realignment at the federal level.

He said the state government’s stance is clear, that it does not want to get involved in the “turmoil” following Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s resignation as prime minister.

Borhan said a meeting was held this morning between Amirudin, who is also state PKR chairman, state DAP chairman Gobind Singh Deo and Selangor Amanah chairman Izham Hashim.

“All of them agreed to remain in PH.”

Meanwhile, a Selangor palace source said an audience with Amirudin is not in the sultan’s schedule for today.

Selangor has 56 state seats, with PKR holding 21, DAP (16), Amanah (8) and Bersatu (5). Barisan Nasional holds five, and PAS, one. – Bernama, February 24, 2020.
